Her Interview
Ten minutes with Donna
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to being intentional in every aspect of my life, with determination, drive, and perseverance. Before the passing of my husband, I thought that I knew what my life looked like. But after the unexpected loss of my husband, the "rug" was pulled out from underneath me. I had to allow myself to be ok with rebuilding my life in a way that didn't look anywhere near the same while navigating through significant changes, and make multiple career transitions while prioritizing and allowing the changes needed in my life to be present for my family. My career was within the rhealm of the airline, however that no longer fit. I needed to be home. Those experiences challenged me to adapt, grow, and continue moving forward despite uncertainty. Through resilience, hard work, and a commitment to creating a meaningful future, I have been able to overcome obstacles, embrace new opportunities, and continue building a successful career while staying true to my values.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
<ol><li>my reputation is my best resume.</li><li>never stop learning </li><li>Be the best person people can count on</li><li>skills may earn an interview , but your integrity will earn you a career </li></ol>
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women entering the industry to remain open-minded and adaptable, as life and careers do not always follow the path we originally envision. While it is important to have goals and dreams, it is equally important to embrace change, remain resilient, and navigate challenges with grace. Focus on building a strong foundation of integrity, self-respect, and confidence while setting healthy boundaries in both your personal and professional life. We cannot control every circumstance or obstacle we encounter, but we can control how we respond, learn, and continue moving forward.
Perfect!
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
People are overwhelmed with scam calls. The last thing people want is to be interrupted in their workday or when they are trying to unwind after a busy day.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are integrity, self-respect, and maintaining healthy boundaries. I believe that being honest, dependable, and staying true to my principles are essential for building trust and meaningful relationships. Self-respect allows me to recognize my worth and make decisions that align with my values, while setting boundaries helps me maintain balance and protect what matters most. These values guide the way I serve my clients, approach challenges, and navigate both my personal and professional journey.
