About Dorie
Dorie Taylor is a financial services professional and licensed insurance agent based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Since joining New York Life in May 2026 and becoming a licensed insurance agent in February 2026, she has focused on helping individuals and families navigate financial and insurance decisions through personalized guidance and relationship-based service. Her expertise includes sales, client service, relationship building, and management, with a strong emphasis on understanding each client’s unique needs and goals.
Before transitioning into financial services, Dorie built a diverse entrepreneurial career spanning more than two decades. She has owned businesses since 2017 and has more than 13 years of experience as an art dealer, connecting established fine artists with private collectors in global markets. She also worked as a fine art photographer and operated a Pilates studio in London, experiences that strengthened her skills in business ownership, sales, marketing, customer relationships, and creative problem-solving. Her educational background includes studies in secondary education and teaching at Arizona State University and an Associate of Arts degree in Photography from Phoenix College.
Dorie is also committed to community involvement and service. She has volunteered with organizations focused on food assistance, poverty alleviation, and community support, including The Freestore Foodbank, and has contributed to local initiatives through volunteer and civic activities. Across her varied career, she has developed a reputation for connecting with people, delivering thoughtful service, and adapting to new opportunities. 01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my husband’s unwavering support throughout our nearly 40 years of marriage, the challenges that taught me resilience, and the strong women who inspired me to be determined, confident, and never give up.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is to believe in myself, trust my instincts, and know who I am. When I face a setback, I take time to reflect and consider whether I’m still on the right path or if a new opportunity may be ahead.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is simple: don’t back down. Believe in yourself, stand your ground, and have the confidence to pursue your goals.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is navigating the barriers that can come with being a woman. At the same time, it is an opportunity to break barriers, build credibility, and inspire other women to succeed.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is the most important value to me, both personally and professionally. I believe in being honest, trustworthy, and doing the right thing even when no one is watching.
