Her career has encompassed fashion photography, film and television, digital and high-definition production, weddings, commercial work, red-carpet events, conventions, and special events.

Throughout her career, Doris has developed expertise across a wide range of makeup applications, including natural beauty, fashion, glamour, character makeup, special effects, airbrushing, and body painting. As a member of IATSE Local 706, she has maintained professional standards while adapting her craft to the evolving demands of film, television, photography, and live events.

Beyond her artistry, Doris is recognized for her commitment to professionalism, client relationships, and mentorship. 01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

I am self-made and learned from my own mistakes through trial and error. I never had anyone guide me, so I remember advice when given and make changes so issues never happen again. Building a comprehensive kit by listening to client needs also helped me stand out.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Listen carefully to directions and client preferences rather than assuming. Ask detailed questions about foundation coverage, eyeshadow style, and other specifics. Be flexible and avoid being pigeonholed into one look. Follow proper protocols and communicate clearly to ensure client satisfaction.
