About Dorothy

She is a dedicated engineering education professional and doctoral candidate with a strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, and student success in STEM fields. Currently serving as Graduate Program Manager at Florida International University for the Reboot Representation project, she supports transfer students from Miami Dade College pursuing Computer Science degrees, with a particular focus on women of color, facilitating peer engagement, organizing student-centered events, and shaping inclusive support systems. She is also the Founder of MY MIND & ME, a mental health organization dedicated to raising awareness, destigmatizing mental health challenges, and empowering underserved communities through trauma-informed advocacy and outreach. Her leadership extends to the Society of Women Engineers as a SWE-Global Ambassador, where she advances SWE's mission and contributes diverse global perspectives, and as Membership Chair for the ASEE Student Division, where she drives membership recruitment and engagement. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with a focus on Engineering Education at Florida International University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Liberia. She is recognized as a passionate, equity-driven leader who bridges research, education, and advocacy to create meaningful change in engineering education and community well-being.
