Her Interview
Ten minutes with Dorthy
01What do you attribute your success to?
The leaders that were before me, the people that have taught me and helped me along the way. My hospitality team has been like another family, especially during tough times like when my oldest son passed away and they put my family up when they came from out of town.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be dedicated and do something that you're passionate about. Stick with it because there is opportunity to grow. Be a team player, be open to opportunity, and make the difference for your team by being chipper and having a smile.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Challenges include finding employees who care and are ready to put the work in, with a poor applicant pool. Opportunities include room to grow as hotels are going up everywhere and the company is taking over new properties, preparing staff for advancement.
