Her Interview
Ten minutes with Dr
01What do you attribute your success to?
I'm strong in my faith. That's a significant part, I feel, because I always have something foundationally to hold me and keep me grounded. I also have a supportive network of friends that I'm grateful for.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Enjoy what you do. Don't consider it work. Think about what it is that you really... what brings you joy. And do that. Know yourself first and find what your niche is.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Have someone to hold you accountable, not just be a good friend but to hold you accountable when things are good, bad, or indifferent. Be open to constructive criticism and always look for ways to improve what you do.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Even after being in business for a very long time, you still have to convince those who are not familiar with you of the service that you bring. It's an ongoing thing, and as a woman it's challenging to always educate those who don't understand the value.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Loyalty is very important. Integrity is extremely important. That carries over from internal and external relationships, professional and private relationships.
