Her Interview

Ten minutes with Dr.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I credit my success to the support of my parents, educators, and mentors, who helped me build a strong educational foundation and reach my goals. Equally important has been my own resilience and consistency while working diligently to evolve into an effective educator and leader.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I have received is to accept and appreciate every opportunity afforded and learn all I can.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Keep showing up and learning daily. Students need passionate educators who care about them. Education is a difficult field, but it has many rewarding moments. Be sure to practice work-life balance so you don't get burned out quickly.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge in education right now is the decline in people entering the field and staying long enough to become administrators. However, I take pride in participating in opportunities to mentor and encourage new and current educators to retain in the field.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are integrity, connection, collaboration, growth, and gratitude. I strive to grow through continuous learning and professional development, and I practice gratitude by appreciating every moment.
