Dr. Evelyn Cruz

I am an experienced school leader dedicated to creating student-centered learning environments that promote equity, innovation, and academic excellence. Throughout my career, I have led diverse school communities, developed teacher leadership, and implemented forward-thinking academic programs that support both student success and professional growth for educators.

As Principal of the Denver School of Innovation and Sustainable Design, I led initiatives focused on project-based learning, early college pathways, and industry internships—creating opportunities for students to gain real-world experience while earning college credits as early as 9th grade. My leadership emphasized joyful learning, inclusive school culture, and strong partnerships with community organizations and local industries.

Previously, I served as Principal of both the STEM Academy at Long Branch High School and the Science Computer Technology Academy at Long Branch Middle School in New Jersey, where I developed teacher leaders, expanded community mentorship opportunities, and strengthened academic programs in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
