About Dr.

Dr. Josiah serves as a practice assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she educates and mentors the next generation of nurses in advanced practice and doctoral prepared leadership roles. She is also the founder of Rafa Integrative Psychiatry and Wellness, LLC, which allows her to remain connected to clinical practice while advancing access to psychiatric mental health care. With 15 years of experience in the healthcare field, Dr. Josiah began her journey as a home health aide and progressed through various roles and degrees to earn her Doctorate of Nursing Practice. Her educational background includes an Associate Degree in General Studies from Frederick Community College, a bachelor's degree in psychological and brain sciences from Johns Hopkins University, a Masters of Science in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner post-master's certification from Columbia University School of Nursing, and her DNP. Dr. Josiah is passionate about educational innovations surrounding artificial intelligence, simulation, interactive avatars, clinical decision support, and implementation science. She contributes as a key opinion leader for Johnson and Johnson's neuroscience department and serves as a consultant on the Educational Advisory Board for Walters Corps Publishing Company. In addition to her academic and clinical work, Dr. Josiah founded the nonprofit Ignite, Unite, Fight, Help Find a Cure for Cancer and Infectious Diseases and created the EBIN Wellness Initiative, a community health program integrating nutrition, mental health awareness, movement, and emotional wellness for children and families in underserved communities. Her advice to young women entering the field is to first find their why, tap into their individualized and divine purpose, align it with their core values, and then walk in their purpose.
