Her Story
About Dr
I've been in the holistic medicine, publishing, and motivational speaking fields for 25 years. My practice helps people bridge their life from the real workaday world into science and spirituality with science-backed proof. I work with all the modalities that fall under non-drug ways of healing - coaching, consulting, journaling, human design (which is uncovering what you were born to do), muscle testing (your body's way of accepting or rejecting different types of medication, food, organics), and teaching people how to meditate and dial down the anxiety and fear. I specialize in pre- and post-bariatric surgery coaching and consulting, and weight loss management for both men and women. I have a wellness center and work in wellness centers, plus I offer online wellness services. The motivational speaking gives me the platform to talk about helping people find their purpose and passion, and the holistic medicine gives me the credentials to bring it all together. I'm really big in the self-help industry, helping people go from confusion and fogginess and not knowing what their next steps in life are to finding out if they're in the right place and discovering their purpose and passion.

Ten minutes with Dr
01What do you attribute your success to?
I've always coined myself as this kind of in-the-trenches professional. I don't sit in the ivory tower, I get down into the mud with everybody just to kind of see what's going on. And then I pop out, and then I think about what's going on, and then I turn around and I make a seminar, or a workshop, or a talk, or an article, so that maybe that experience can help somebody else. It's really important that what I'm saying, speaking, teaching, or whatever is actually helpful. It's not just people getting out there to talk just to hear themselves talk, or complaining just to complain. I'm the type of person that I'm wired to look at fairness and balance. When I see something that doesn't make sense, I dive right into it to figure it out. I'm here on the planet to not make things right, but to balance the positive and negative. I can see things from both sides, and I'm here to show everybody the edge - because people say there's two sides to a coin, but there's really three: the front, the back, and the edge.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Don't try to people please - be authentic. The one thing I can say is be you, or learn who you are, be you. I tell my kids all the time, I know that you're learning while you live, but just make sure you own your voice. You know how they say that youth is wasted on the young? Here I am 45 years later in my career going, wow, I could have used this information 45 years ago. I take a look at the availability of knowledge and the availability of just information today - it's unbelievable. I wish I had that 45 years ago. If you're in corporate America and you push back against that machine, you're gonna get fired, because they don't want you to be a truth seeker. If you work for one of the Fortune 100 companies, you have to know that you are definitely a cog, you are a spoke in that wheel. Everybody wants people to have authenticity and voice, but the minute you go against somebody, you better be prepared with knowledge and to back it up so that they don't go after you. Corporate world is quite the landmines.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I think the opportunities are to broaden people's perspectives, whether they're my patients or people that I'm coaching or consulting - it's about widening the vision and opening up. There's so many people that live in scarcity and limitation that they can't see that there's more out there. If you're just trying to survive to put food on the table, you're not thinking about anything else other than how you're going to do it again tomorrow. It's really hard to come up out of that. I'm here to shine a light on the good things that are happening and try to reset some of the things that went down the rabbit hole. I think what makes me - I've always been a teacher, I've always been about education, and I've always been about looking at both sides. I'm here to show everybody the edge.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I think truth and transparency are most important to me. I think there's truth-tellers, and it's not based on perspective, it's based on research and science. I think that people - humanity - we're all human, and we walk around in states of fear. Through the news, when was the last time you turned on the news and they were giving you happy stuff? Never. We're addicted to the news, it's 24-7. My being is to shine a light on the good things that are happening and try to reset some of the things that went down the rabbit hole. I've always been a teacher, I've always been about education, and I've always been about looking at both sides. People say there's two sides to a coin, but there's really three - there's the front, the back, and the edge. I'm here to show everybody the edge.
