Her Story

About Dr. Suzette Michelle

Suzette Michelle Cudjoe-Hodge Johnson is a mental health counselor and operational process analyst based in Jacksonville, Florida, where she has run an independent counseling practice since 1994. A Navy veteran who served among the first waves of women stationed aboard an aircraft carrier, she has spent more than three decades channeling that experience into advocacy for fellow service members, offering pro bono support to veterans and their families dealing with PTSD, military sexual trauma, anxiety, depression, and substance abuse. Her practice also extends to couples counseling and support for firefighters, reflecting a broader commitment to individuals in high-stress, service-oriented professions.

Beyond her counseling work, Dr. Cudjoe-Hodge Johnson has built a parallel career in the corporate sector, currently serving as an Operational Process Analyst with Ally Bank and Ally Financial, a role she has held for several years alongside her clinical practice. She is deeply engaged in her community through organizations such as the Northeast Florida Women's Veterans Organization, initiatives supporting homeless veterans, and the Vet Council at Jacksonville's City Hall, where she continues to champion the needs of women who served and veterans navigating the challenges of civilian life.

Academically, Dr. Cudjoe-Hodge Johnson earned her PhD in Business with a specialization in Criminal Justice and Corrections from National University at age 60, following double master's degrees in Rehabilitation Counseling and Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Florida. She credits her achievements to the enduring love and support of her adoptive family and the village in Trinidad and Tobago that raised her after her adoption at two months old, and she leads her personal and professional life guided by truth, integrity, and honesty.
