Her Story
About H.E. DRA. Palmira
Throughout my entire life, I have dedicated myself to working in the arts and culture because I am an actor, a poet, and a writer. After a fulfilling career as a TV producer, radio producer, and working in PR for different agencies, with my last job at PRAFA, Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration, the office of the Governor of Puerto Rico in mainland, I retired about 25 years ago. Following my retirement, I founded the International Association of Hispanic Poets and Writers (AIPEH), and it was such a success that different branches were opened in North America, South America, Central America, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, and Africa. We now have representatives almost all around the world. As a 501c3 nonprofit organization based in Orlando, Florida, we are now celebrating our 19th anniversary. We help talented people reach their goals, and we include all the disciplines of the arts - not only poets and writers, but theater artists, cinematography, sculpture, visual art, music, dancing, and more. As founder and emeritus president, one of my main concerns and what I love to do is to help people reach their goals and to be inspiration for others. I also founded AIPEH'S Torch of Peace, which has a mission to reach governors or presidents or personalities of many nations to pass the torch to them for peace, unity, love, enlighten and for them to be blessed by God in their position. Instead of having a torch of fire, we have a torch of light because we are beings of light working for many years in spiritual matters with love, light, peace and unity - universal peace and unity. I have been very blessed because people believe in what we do and want to continue our legacy. Our name and memorabilia are in the United States Congress and at Hunter College (CUNY) at the Center of Puerto Rican Studies, and we have been included in the time capsule for the discovery of La Florida in 2013 when I was vice president of the council, and in the Orange County time capsule twice. Our memorabilia will be closed for 50 years. Our contribution has been recognized by congressmen and presidents and very important people. I work as a volunteer and don't charge anything. Currently, I am involved in a big project - an arts and cultural plaza that has been approved by Orange County and the City of Kissimmee. I am also working in cinematography on a movie that is going to cost $25 million, which has also been approved by Orange County. I am the producer of this film with a film commissioner in Puerto Rico, and it's called 'The Power Angels' - a very interesting story of my inspiration, about angels coming to Earth to help us in this quantum leap that the planet is going through.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with H.E. DRA. Palmira
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the fact that I have been blessed by God with a mission and the talent to help other people reach their goals in the arts. I feel so grateful that God has given me this talent to help others, and I have so much fun helping people reach their goals. I believe I was born with this calling - when I was born, I think I had this vision in my head because I was always planning to do theater and everything. Even in my college, my teachers, who were nuns, recognized that I was a special kid and put me in charge of organizing all kinds of presentations and shows in the church. By the time I was only 12 years old, I already had my own radio show in my hometown, and my teachers took me to different other cities so I could play music and recite. I have been working for many years in spiritual matters with love, light, peace and unity, and God is putting everything together and opening gates so I can fulfill my mission. I don't know where the resources are coming from, but they will, because God is making it possible. I have enough energy to do everything that God has assigned me to do, even while caring for my disabled daughter who depends on me all day and night.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
My two major projects right now are big ones that will require millions of dollars. First, I want to build what I call the Hispanic Plaza of arts and culture - a shopping mall where everything is related to art, with all the artists' expositions and classes for the kids to learn music, acting, writing, poetry, dancing, and everything. We need to have a place like this, and both Orange County and Osceola County in Kissimmee are very interested because they recognize that it's very important to do something like that. Through the arts, we can reach the kids and help them with their talent from when they are very, very young. Around this plaza, I ultimately want to build a city of artists. The second major project is producing a $25 million movie called 'The Power Angels' with a film commissioner in Puerto Rico. It's a very interesting story about angels coming to Earth to help us in this quantum leap that the planet is going through. We have many sponsors, and soon we will be shooting the film. These projects represent the opportunity to create lasting infrastructure and media that will support artists and inspire people for generations to come.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The most important values to me are helping people, being an inspiration for others, and working for peace, unity, love, and light. One of my main concerns and what I love to do is to help people reach their goals and to be inspiration for others. As we grow, we continue helping others. Through my work as creator and universal carrier of the Torch of Peace, I focus on bringing peace, unity, and love to leaders of nations, blessing them in their positions. We work as beings of light for universal peace and unity. I have been working for many years in spiritual matters with love, light, peace and unity. Everything I do is volunteer work - I don't charge anything - because my mission is about service and helping talented people reach their goals. Even while caring for my disabled daughter who depends on me all day and night, I have enough energy to do everything that God has assigned me to do. I feel so blessed and grateful that God has given me this talent to help other people, and this is my life - I have so much fun helping others that I don't need anything else.
