Athena E. Ivanoff, M.D., Ph.D., M.Sc.
Dr. Athena E. Ivanoff, M.D., Ph.D., M.Sc., is a distinguished scientist and physician with a remarkable career spanning biomedical research, quantum physics, and biotechnology. She currently serves as Chief Scientific Officer at ZC Institute, where she leads global initiatives in scientific research, education, and innovation. Dr. Ivanoff holds multiple degrees, including B.S. degrees in Biology and Chemistry from Cleveland State University, an M.Sc. in Biomedical Sciences, and both an M.D. and Ph.D. in Quantum Physics and Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in bio-photonics from the Einstein Medical Institute. Her extensive research career, now over 15 years, encompasses rare genetic disorders, pediatric child abuse, biostatistics, oncology, and computational modeling of human physiological systems.
Prior to her role at ZC Institute, Dr. Ivanoff completed a postdoctoral fellowship at NASA Glenn Research Center through the Universities Space Research Association (USRA), where she conducted pioneering work in computational simulations and materials science. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed scientific, medical, and physics journals, and holds several patents in AC electrokinetics for drug delivery, including methods to enhance intraoral and transdermal administration of active agents. Her contributions to science have been recognized with prestigious honors, including the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020 for her research on children with Ring Chromosome 14 Syndrome.
A true innovator, Dr. Ivanoff continues to explore cutting-edge scientific challenges, such as gravity-aided amalgamation methods for nuclear fusion as a sustainable energy source. Her expertise spans quantum optics, laser safety, bio-photonics, and advanced computational modeling. Beyond research, she is an international lecturer, professor, and mentor, dedicated to fostering the next generation of scientists and advancing global scientific engagement through her work at ZC Institute.
