Her Interview

Ten minutes with Dr. D

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to following the advice my sister gave me: do what truly makes you happy. For 25 years, I focused primarily on earning a living, but I realized that financial success alone did not bring me fulfillment. Today, I have chosen a path that aligns with my purpose and passions, and that sense of fulfillment has been the greatest measure of my success.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received came from my sister: do what makes you happy. For 25 years, I stayed in a job that provided financial security but didn't bring me fulfillment. Following her advice gave me the confidence to pursue work that aligns with my passions and purpose, and I've never looked back.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to learn as much as you can, as quickly as you can. Be intentional about managing your finances—save consistently, invest wisely, and make the most of free resources like your local library. Knowledge and financial discipline are two of the greatest investments you can make in your future.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is maintaining a steady pipeline of clients who value the work and pay consistently. At the same time, this creates an opportunity to build strong relationships, earn trust through quality service, and develop a sustainable client base through reputation and referrals.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity is the value I hold above all else, both professionally and personally. I believe in doing exactly what I say I'm going to do, and I put my commitments in writing to ensure clarity, accountability, and trust. For me, honoring my word is the foundation of every successful relationship.
