About Dr. Laura
Dr. Laura Montalvo brings approximately 15 years of experience in higher education to her role coordinating the assignment and onboarding of subject matter experts in collaboration with academic deans and program directors. She oversees course development, content translation, and the full course production lifecycle from assignment to final delivery, while managing project tracking with Monday.com, verifying course readiness, collaborating on budget planning, validating translation deliverables, and supporting accreditation and compliance processes. Dr. Montalvo holds a master's degree in criminal justice, a master's degree in project management from Georgetown University, a doctorate in instructional design from Nova Southeastern University, and is currently pursuing a master's degree in learning analytics and artificial intelligence at the University of Pennsylvania. She maintains professional memberships in the International Association of Crime Analysts, the Project Management Institute, Quality Matters, and the Scrum Alliance. Her honors include the Continuous Improvement Professional Award and Excellence in Change Management from the Management and Strategy Institute in 2025, Outstanding Performance and Lasting Contribution on Canvas LMS from National University College Online Division in 2014, Golden Key International Honor Society from Nova Southeastern University in 2017, Phi Kappa Phi in 2018, Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education in 2019, and Phi Lambda Theta from the University of Pennsylvania.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to lifelong learning, perseverance, integrity, discipline, and a genuine passion for helping others succeed. I believe that continuous growth, hard work, and a commitment to excellence create opportunities to make a meaningful impact.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Never stop learning, and never let your title define your potential. Focus on adding value, building relationships, and maintaining integrity—your reputation will open more doors than any position ever could.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Believe in your abilities, even when others underestimate you. Invest in your education, seek mentors, embrace technology, and don't be afraid to ask questions. Your unique perspective is your strength, and your voice deserves to be heard.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The rapid growth of artificial intelligence presents both the greatest challenge and the greatest opportunity. The future belongs to professionals who can combine technology with critical thinking, ethics, creativity, and human-centered leadership. Education must prepare learners to use AI responsibly while developing the skills that technology cannot replace.
