Dr. Mary Robinson

I spent 28 years working as a nurse, which was my primary career for most of my professional life. Growing up, I only knew about limited career options - I thought there was just nursing and teaching available to women. But over time, I discovered the marine industry and realized there's so much more out there than what I originally believed. This realization has become a driving force in my life. Now, my priority is to help inspire young girls and women to see all the possibilities available to them. I work with a group of about 6 to 8 other women in diverse fields, including a DNR officer and a state trooper, and we go out to high schools in our area to talk to girls about what they can do with their careers. My whole goal is to show them that there are so many more options than they might think, and I hope that by sharing my story and the stories of other women, someone along the way will say, 'Hey, look at this - this is what else you can do.'
