Her Story
About Dr. Michelle
I wear two different hats - I wear the for-profit hat and the non-for-profit hat. Our nonprofit organization is really based on going out into the community and providing resources and education to people on a low or no-cost scale. Right now, our nonprofit is actually embarking on a venture to create a sanctuary for our homeless military women and children so that they can get the support that they deserve. On the for-profit side, we recently pivoted into now providing corporate wellness programs. Part of that is because I wanted to touch as many lives as possible, and also because I wanted to find a way to be able to produce the funding that we're going to need for this huge venture on the nonprofit side. What I find most rewarding is seeing people take charge of their lives and getting the outcomes that they previously thought were unattainable. Seeing people reversing chronic illness is just phenomenal to see - the power that nature has and the power that people can tap into and claim it as their own, as opposed to thinking that it's someone else waving that magical wand. I love people claiming their victories for themselves.

01What do you attribute your success to?
The key factor to my success is my connection with God. It motivates me, inspires me, soothes me, calms me, rebalances me. Without that, I know that I would not be where I am today. I started my journey in life being one of those babies that they didn't think was going to make it. From that very beginning, I know that the Spirit of God has been with me, taking me on through many adventures and near-death experiences. It's been quite a journey, and I share this with other women because oftentimes we are ashamed of our journey, we are ashamed of where we have been and things we have gone through. We're afraid of allowing other people to know different parts of our journey, and subsequently we bury those things and they fester within us and they eat us from the inside out. That's why it's been very important to me to share the intricacies of my own bizarre life with the hope that other women will see it and say, okay, it's okay, it's not just me. We don't realize that, no, that's just life. It's not indicative of who we are, but just another stop on the journey.
