Her Story
About Dr. Pamela
I am the owner of Wiggins Management and Consulting, LLC. We are a professional staff training and development company, as well as we specialize in arbitration and mediation. I am a Florida Supreme Court-certified family mediator, and also a certified arbitrator. In addition, we are also offering life coaching services through our program, Dr. Life Coach Online. That program was developed during COVID because people were not able to get out and seek services and particularly women needed to feel validated and still feel like we matter in the workforce. I have always been an avid educator and a leader, never a follower, because as a leader you can mark your own path.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Dr. Pamela
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to God and God alone. God is the CEO and the head of my life, and so I ask Him for guidance and wisdom. Through my prayer life, my church life, and my family, I am able to make good sound decisions based on biblical principle, good ethics, values, and morals. My parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wiggins, owned a carpet and furniture cleaning business for 20 years and that was a big influence showing me I can work for myself.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice from my parents would be don't ever underestimate yourself. If you see an opportunity, go for it. Because the opportunity may not present itself again. And don't ever think that you aren't good enough. You're always good enough. The only opportunity you miss out on is the one that you don't pursue.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say do it, and do it scared. It's not going to be easy, but you have lots of different mentors. Lots of different women, people that will help you along the way. God will send the right people to assist you. Stay encouraged. You are your best encouragement. Sometimes the people that we think that are in our corner, friends and family, are not the ones that are always going to cheer us on. It might be a complete stranger.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge in my field of work, being an entrepreneur, would be not being able to as a small business owner sometimes funding for women is not readily accessible. Larger organizations have an easier time getting funding, and I would like to see funding for small business owners, especially small women business owners, become more readily available.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important in my personal and professional life would be character and integrity. People will not always remember what you did for them, but they will remember how you treated them. And that most of the time is how you get repeat business. Also being a person of your word. If you say you're going to do something, do it. Under-promise and over-deliver.
