Dr. Veronica Smith

Dr. Veronica Smith is a licensed surgical assistant practitioner with nearly a decade of experience in the operating room, having pursued her passion for surgery since childhood and completing her master's in surgical assisting at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She holds a doctorate in healthcare administration and a bachelor's of science in psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University, which informed her earlier work as a qualified mental health professional with at-risk youth. In addition to her surgical practice, Dr. Smith founded a lifestyle medicine and mindset coaching business in 2023, drawing from her personal journey recovering from burnout to help other healthcare professionals achieve greater flexibility and autonomy. She is an active member of the National Surgical Assistant Association and maintains licensure through the Virginia State Board of Medicine. Dr. Smith also volunteers with the House of Esther Ministries, a transitional home for women through her church. She credits her success entirely to God and the emphasis her parents placed on faith and academics from a young age. Among the best career advice she has received is to never box oneself in, which has enabled her to pursue multiple callings including her photography business started in 2014.
