Ebony Adomanis, CAPM, PACE, CAP is an administrative operations strategist, consultant, and advocate dedicated to redefining how organizations view administrative professionals and operational infrastructure. As the Founder and Principal of Ebony Adomanis Consulting, she developed the ALIGNED Operational Methodology™, a structured framework designed to help organizations identify operational breakdowns, improve workflow continuity, and strengthen the systems that connect leadership strategy to day-to-day execution. Drawing from nearly three decades of experience across industries including finance, hospitality, higher education, professional sports, nonprofit leadership, and consulting, Adomanis has built a reputation for recognizing hidden operational friction and transforming it into scalable, sustainable processes.

Throughout her 27-year career, Adomanis has held administrative and operational leadership roles with organizations such as Washington Commanders, Sinclair Community College, Kimley-Horn, and multiple organizations connected to military communities during her family’s Air Force service years. Her work consistently focused on improving operational clarity, formalizing workflows, strengthening institutional knowledge management, and helping teams scale more effectively. Combining expertise in business operations, budgeting, compliance coordination, project management, and executive partnership, she developed a systems-thinking approach that views administrative professionals not as support staff, but as critical operational architects within modern organizations.

In addition to her consulting work, Adomanis is a passionate advocate for the administrative profession and a recognized thought leader in operational design and workplace infrastructure. Through her #AdminOnPurpose™ platform, virtual events, newsletters, keynote speaking engagements, and LinkedIn content, she champions the idea that administrative professionals are strategic partners essential to organizational success. She is an active member of organizations including the American Society of Administrative Professionals, the International Association of Administrative Professionals, and the Project Management Institute, and holds certifications including CAP, PACE, and CAPM. Currently completing her Bachelor of Business Administration in Organizational Leadership at Southern New Hampshire University, Adomanis continues to advocate for more intentional operational systems, stronger career pathways for administrative professionals, and workplaces designed to support both people and performance.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the impact I’ve had on empowering administrative professionals to see themselves as strategic partners rather than “just admins.” Throughout my 27-year career journey—from attending Fleet Business School while pregnant to launching my own consulting firm—I’ve been passionate about helping others pursue growth, return to school, and recognize the value they bring to organizations. What drives me most is showing administrative professionals that this is a meaningful career built on leadership, independent thinking, and being the infrastructure that helps companies succeed.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received was that you can have both a fulfilling family life and a career that brings you joy, purpose, and happiness. That perspective gave me the confidence to pursue meaningful professional opportunities while also prioritizing the people and experiences that matter most to me.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women, especially women of color, is to remember that success does not have a timeline. It’s never too late to pursue your goals, and no dream is too big or too small if it brings you happiness and purpose. Don’t feel pressured to choose between family and career—you can build a life that includes both. Your journey may require pivots and new directions along the way, but that resilience is what makes women so strong and inspiring.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is that many companies still underestimate the value of administrative professionals and fail to recognize that we are a critical part of the infrastructure that helps organizations grow and operate effectively. There is also still an outdated stereotype that admins are “just secretaries,” when in reality we are strategic partners who understand operations, anticipate needs, and often see the bigger picture across an organization. At the same time, I see a major opportunity to change that perception by advocating for administrative professionals to be treated with the same level of respect and recognition as any other professional in the workplace.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are advocacy, service, family, and helping others recognize their full potential. I’m passionate about empowering administrative professionals to see themselves as strategic partners and respected professionals, while also encouraging women—especially women of color—to pursue their goals on their own timeline. My commitment to community service through organizations like American Society of Administrative Professionals and JordanCon reflects my belief in giving back and creating opportunities for others. Above all, I value family and take great pride in raising my children while building a fulfilling career alongside supporting my husband’s Air Force journey, proving that women can successfully pursue both personal and professional fulfillment.
