A core focus of her consulting practice is grant writing and organizational development for nonprofit and mission-driven organizations. Ebony has developed and secured grant funding for initiatives including brain trauma centers, group homes, church facility restoration projects, and youth mentorship programs focused on long-term sustainability. She also has extensive expertise in HR and compliance, including the creation of over 600 pages of policy and procedure manuals in a single year and the development of a North American employee handbook. Ebony’s passion for grant writing was inspired by her mother, who built and led a successful grant-focused business for over 30 years, and they continue to collaborate on select projects. She also has experience working alongside state and local government agencies to support community-driven initiatives. She holds a dual Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Administration and Management from the University of Phoenix, aligning with her expertise in healthcare systems, nonprofit leadership, and organizational strategy. This combination of persistence, curiosity, and a continuous desire to learn has shaped both my career path and my ability to create meaningful impact.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is to be confident and trust my ability to navigate both the peaks and valleys of my professional journey. I have learned that confidence is essential to staying grounded, resilient, and focused, even during challenging seasons. I was also advised to surround myself with a strong support system made up of positive, like-minded individuals who encourage growth and accountability. Equally important, I was reminded to embrace my uniqueness and show up authentically in every space. This combination of confidence, intentional relationships, and authenticity has guided my decisions and continues to shape my professional growth.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to think outside the box and never limit themselves by traditional expectations or perceived barriers. Embrace challenges as opportunities to grow, learn, and strengthen your confidence and capability. Lead with kindness and respect in every interaction, while remaining open, honest, and grounded in your values. It is equally important to build meaningful relationships and be intentional about both seeking mentorship and becoming a mentor to others. Success is not only about personal achievement, but also about the impact you make and the people you uplift along the way.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest opportunity in my field right now is expanding access to holistic event consulting and wellness-centered strategies for both individuals and organizations. There is a growing awareness of the importance of well-being, intentional experiences, and culture-driven engagement in building strong, sustainable businesses. My focus is on reaching more individuals and companies who are seeking support in elevating their events, strengthening their organizational culture, and integrating wellness into their operations. By doing so, I can help them grow in a more balanced, impactful, and sustainable way while continuing to advance the value of holistic, people-centered approaches in the industry.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are leading by example, bringing positivity to others, and maintaining strong time management and attention to detail. I am goal-driven and intentional in everything I do, always striving to stay focused, organized, and accountable. Just as importantly, I value the ability to make a meaningful difference each day, whether through my professional work, community involvement, or personal interactions. I believe that consistency, integrity, and a positive mindset are essential to creating lasting impact and building strong, trusted relationships.
