Her Story

About Ebony

I serve as a professor in the School of Social Work, where I mentor students and help guide them toward meaningful professional opportunities. In addition to my teaching role, I run my own businesses and have a strong background in mental health therapy. I'm very intentional about the work I do and the affiliations I build because my students look to me as an example, and I want to showcase opportunities that will benefit them. I'm actively working to expand my professional community and am particularly passionate about getting into publishing work focused on maternal health, infertility, and women's mental health. Throughout the year, my organization sponsors numerous community events and provides support to college students, reflecting my commitment to community service and engagement. I believe in giving back and making a meaningful impact through both my professional work and philanthropic efforts.

01What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I'm very intentional about everything I do because I have students that I mentor and they look to me as an example. I want to showcase meaningful affiliations and opportunities to them, so I'm careful about what I commit to and what I represent. I believe strongly in community service and giving back, which is why we sponsor so many events and support college students throughout the year. I want to make sure that financially and professionally, I'm making smart decisions that align with my values of supporting others and building a strong professional community. Being intentional, supportive of students and the community, and making thoughtful decisions are at the core of how I approach both my work and personal life.
