Her Interview

Ten minutes with Ebony

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the unwavering support of my family, especially my parents, grandparents, and extended family, who instilled in me the values and confidence to pursue my goals. My husband has been an incredible partner, and together we approach life's challenges as a team. As a mother, my daughter inspires me to make thoughtful decisions that shape a positive future. Above all, my faith has guided me throughout my career, providing strength, resilience, and purpose every step of the way.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received is to open doors but never close them behind you. There are plenty of opportunities for everyone, and success is greater when you help others along the way. I've learned that extending a helping hand and supporting those around you creates stronger relationships and leads to greater personal and professional growth.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to work hard to become truly knowledgeable in your field and never let anyone discourage you from pursuing your goals. Surround yourself with like-minded people who genuinely support your vision, because having a strong network will take you much further than trying to succeed on your own.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is keeping pace with the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence. While AI is creating tremendous opportunities for innovation and efficiency, the law has not yet fully caught up with how these technologies are being developed and used. Over the next three to five years, aligning legal and regulatory frameworks with the evolving AI landscape will be a critical challenge.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that matter most to me are fairness, equity, intellectual curiosity, and integrity. I am a strong advocate for education and encourage others to pursue lifelong learning. Above all, I believe in doing the right thing, even when no one is watching, and leading with honesty and integrity in both my personal and professional life.
