Edith Coleman Chears

Edith Chears is President and Senior Training Consultant at her training and development consultancy, Mind Over Matter Instruction, Inc. She has over 26 years of experience in the field. Her career began with 14 years at Bank of America in roles including compliance officer and head of training and development. After leaving, she worked as a trainer for various banks and organizations before incorporating her business. She holds a PhD in organizational leadership, with her dissertation focused on advancing women's leadership. She is a Fulbright Specialist who spent six months in Zimbabwe facilitating leadership workshops at the Women's University of Africa. She also serves as a scholar at Brandeis University's Women's Studies Research Center. She is semi-retired but continues to take on contracts in leadership training, coaching, and entrepreneurial training.
