About Ekta
Ekta Mittal brings more than 22 years of expertise to her role as lead software engineer at Royal Caribbean Cruises, where she has worked for 14.5 years and currently manages the performance testing team within quality assurance. She began her career with a Bachelor of Engineering in civil engineering, completed in 2004 after attending Sacred Heart Convent in Chandigarh, India, and transitioned into IT testing after an initial placement at TK20 Software in Austin. Ekta advanced through roles at Interval International in South Miami, focusing on automation and performance engineering, before joining Royal Caribbean, where she progressed from engineer to senior engineer and now leads a team of seven on high-level programs incorporating AI tools. She values daily accomplishment, hard work, active listening as a leader, and maintaining personal fitness for six years to support her demanding schedule managing global teams across time zones.
