Her Interview
Ten minutes with Elaine
01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Being confident in who you are and not looking for another person's validation. Show up with hard work and a determination to succeed regardless of your path or circumstances. Find mentors who are ahead of you, learn from them, accept feedback, and check your ego at the door. My path did not require a degree, and focusing on hard work allowed me to succeed without disqualifying myself.
02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Opportunities to continue digging deeper on how AI can gain efficiencies while not using it to replace what humans are needed for. The challenge is figuring out the right partnership and balance, capitalizing on benefits without squandering the technology, to help affordability and efficiencies. I view ChatGPT as my executive assistant named Japita.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity, love, and service. My life is very intentional. My purpose is to feed into people, give voice to the voiceless, protect the vulnerable, and help people understand their value and their voice. I strive to be the change I want to see, show up for others even when inconvenient, and live with purpose-driven intention.
