Her Story

About Elaine

Elaine Presley owns the Presley Agency, a financial services firm based in Kingsport, Tennessee. She brings 35 years of experience in real estate consulting, 5 years in stocks and bonds, and 2 years in insurance to her role, helping families secure appropriate insurance products, annuities, investments, and real estate solutions. Presley holds licenses for health and life insurance, Medicaid, and annuities, and is approximately one month away from obtaining her financial advisor license. Her educational background includes schooling in England, which she completed in 1976 without receiving a diploma. She was nominated by Prince Charles, now King Charles, for Innovation in Business in 2009. Presley attributes her success to her real estate investing experience and her journey from being a lost child to finding her family, which instilled in her a drive to continuously create and produce without the option of failure. She is also involved in philanthropic efforts through her foundation, including the Teddy Bear Program and providing private tours of Graceland and Memphis for individuals who are ill.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Elaine

01What do you attribute your success to?

My experience in real estate investing, having to survive and being a lost child to becoming a found child, and having to create everything in my life, and not having any options of failure, because failure would mean really bad circumstances. So I had to continuously produce and create, and make it work.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

It depends where they are in their life now... to enter the industry is not to come in the insurance business to make money, because that's not what it's about. It's about helping people. And to come into the industry not trying to be a salesperson... come into this industry with a big heart of wanting to help people, and be a creator, and have empathy, and listen to your clients, and solve their problems the best possible way, and get continuous education.
