About Elana
I began my career in finance about 15 years ago on the banking side, working in commercial lending and project lending for international banks. I was part of lending syndicates that loaned money to large corporates, and I also worked on project lending for things like power plants. After a couple of years in banking, I transitioned to the corporate side in Treasury. I had gained exposure to the corporate side because we dealt directly with CFOs and treasury teams from the banking side. Since then, I've held three Treasury assignments. My first Treasury role was at a huge oil and gas company in Texas. Then I moved to a private software company, and now I'm in my current role at a private wealth management company. In my current position, I function as a one-person treasury team, managing all the bank accounts for the wealth management company. I manage about 200 bank accounts and handle everything from bank account management and analysis to cash flow analysis. I set up people on banking platforms, wire funds, open and close accounts, and handle know your customer requirements for all the accounts and entities. I report to a VP of Finance who oversees AP and Treasury.
