About Elena
Elena Moore is an HR professional in the healthcare industry. She works at a family-owned home care agency where she connects caregivers with clients to ensure a compatible fit and quality care. Elena views the HR department as one of the first faces employees see, from recruitment through their full tenure, which enables caregivers to provide excellent service and improves the business overall. She developed a passion for HR during college classes, appreciating the opportunity to work with people and influence company direction without a direct management role. Elena is SHRM certified and serves as a confidant for executive leadership, a role she highly values. She attributes her success to her faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and emphasizes that the value of work lies in the effort put in, not others' perceptions. Her advice to young women entering the field is to learn to balance employer and employee needs while recognizing that support remains meaningful regardless of the response received.

Ten minutes with Elena
01What do you attribute your success to?
I personally attribute my success to my faith in my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The value of the work you're putting in is just doing it in the first place. It is not determined by how others perceive it.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say that learning to balance employer and employee needs is certainly difficult at times, and just a note of encouragement too that even though you might be the one delivering the less-than-happy news to either side, that your support is still meaningful. The response is not indicative of that level of support. It's the work that goes in, the effort on the front end that's meaningful, and no matter the result, you can stand and be proud of the effort you put in.
