About Elexia
Elexia Johnson is a branding expert, brand designer, and brand strategist based in Tacoma, Washington. Since starting her independent practice in 2014, she has focused on branding design and brand strategy while also offering brand management, branding development, and consulting services. Johnson earned her undergraduate degree from Pacific Lutheran University and later obtained a master's in marketing overseas in London. Her background includes a transition from STEM interests to art and design, sparked by a college internship that led her into marketing and brand work. She attributes her success to a strong drive to succeed and not let down those who have supported her, and she credits a mentor's advice of 'why not?' for helping her overcome overthinking and pursue opportunities like studying abroad and working for herself. Johnson is a member of the Seattle Black Business Network and the Digital Nomad Travel Group.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I really don't have any other option but to succeed. I have so many people who have propped me up and have faith in me, and I just don't want to let anyone down. It's the drive to make all this hard work pay off one day.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
My first mentor told me 'why not?' That broke through my overthinking and paralysis. Now I try anything once, see what happens. Everything is a learning opportunity, not a rejection. That's how I got my degree overseas and started working for myself.
