About elif
Elif Guduk serves as senior manager of a statistical data scientist team in the pharmaceutical industry. Since 2016 she has supported central neurodegenerative disease drug discovery pipelines on both the scientific and software development sides, ensuring statistical data analysis pipelines meet requirements for FDA submission. She works closely with physicians, data management teams from clinical trials, and patients in a patient-centric environment. Her expertise spans statistical data science, precision medicine, bioinformatics, AI in digital health, genomics, and next-generation sequencing. Elif holds a bachelor's degree in molecular biology and genetics from Turkey, completed biotech training in her home country, and earned a master's degree in quantitative genetics and genomics while pursuing additional training in computer science. She has completed intensive AWS cloud training and other cloud environment instruction. Elif is a member of the Women in Science Organization, women in software engineering groups, and women in bioinformatics.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say to her, the genetics, genomics, statistics. Like, algorithms all… all speaks in a way within harmony. And just finding any clue from one and another, You would just… Amazed, and find your way to give the… Healing. Even like through medication, even through understanding or being in listening. So it's all tells the same thing and it's really like the life journey, like being as a clinical data scientist or statistical data scientist all helps you also grow, grow on yourself, so this is really like. what I felt, and I'm not looking… I will just tell the young girl or young people When you look look at your professional life or carrier. actually, you're not just doing something that you are, like, affording yourself or making money. It's actually a journey for yourself as well, for your personal development, for your understanding of life and purpose. So, and the biology and statistics And, like, all these algorithms. that you try to run and understand. It kind of gives you the tool to make more, expanded way of your mind and understanding. It's just, like. Strong tools that you can, go forward, move forward so I would really just, Advise them to be very patient and like strong-willed on the field, and you will amaze that the with the field itself through the satisfaction. That you serve or help the people in their health when they when they are in need.
