							Eliora (Ellie) Enriquez is an emerging filmmaker and creative scholar currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film at Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts, complemented by a minor in Spanish. With a strong academic foundation and a 3.9 GPA, Eliora has developed a passion for cinematic storytelling that spans from documentary to experimental film. Their artistic vision is rooted in curiosity, empathy, and cultural awareness, using film as a powerful medium to explore identity, connection, and the shared human experience. Eliora’s creative approach reflects a thoughtful balance of technical precision and emotional depth, positioning them as a promising voice within the next generation of filmmakers.
Eliora’s professional and campus involvement exemplify leadership, mentorship, and community engagement. As a VPA Ambassador Intern for the Office of Admissions and a Campus Tour Guide with U100, they represent Syracuse University to prospective students and families, fostering meaningful connections through authentic storytelling and outreach. Their mentorship role with the Teens With a Movie Camera program showcases their dedication to empowering young creatives and promoting accessible filmmaking. Eliora is also a highly active member of several organizations, including Delta Kappa Alpha (Cinematic Professional Fraternity), Verbal Blend Poetry, The Symposium, and Orange Pulse Dance Troupe. Within Delta Kappa Alpha, they have held key leadership positions as Sunshine Chair, Philanthropy Chair, and Film Festival Liaison, advancing initiatives that celebrate diversity, creativity, and collaboration.
Eliora’s academic excellence and leadership have been recognized through numerous honors, including the Founders Scholar Award, Success Scholar designation, and the prestigious Our Time Has Come Scholarship. Their experience studying filmmaking abroad in Bologna, Italy, and completing a senior thesis entirely in Spanish demonstrates their global perspective and commitment to cross-cultural storytelling. Deeply inspired by travel, mentorship, and the support of a creative community, Eliora continues to expand their artistic horizons with the goal of producing films that challenge, inspire, and connect audiences worldwide.
					
What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my deep passion for film and storytelling. My interests span a wide range—from documentaries that capture real-world narratives to experimental works that push creative boundaries. I’m driven by curiosity and a constant desire to explore new forms of visual expression, always seeking opportunities to grow as an artist and expand the ways I communicate through film.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are curiosity, connection, and perseverance. Traveling has broadened my perspective and deepened my appreciation for diverse cultures and stories. I am also deeply grateful for the mentors and support systems that have guided me along the way, helping me grow both personally and professionally. One of my proudest accomplishments, a senior thesis completed entirely in Spanish, reflects my commitment to embracing challenges and celebrating cultural diversity through my creative work.
