Her Story

About Elisa

I started coaching in 2019, but my journey began much earlier. I worked in ad sales marketing for television networks like Great American Country and Fine Living, which are owned by the same companies as HGTV and Food Network. I executed sweepstakes campaigns, television ad spots, and added values for advertisers, managing high-level productions with production crews. During that time, I struggled with organization myself and created unique systems to manage my work and deliver on time. I realized I wasn't the only one facing these challenges - I met many people who seemed to have issues getting their work done on time and managing all the different inputs in their life, with every night being a working late night and an imbalance in work-life balance. I started sharing how I would create systems for myself, manage my calendar, and manage my mind and energy to help them be better at what they do. My most notable professional achievement has been pivoting from a corporate job to starting my own business. It was a huge leap from something that felt secure to something that feels very risky because you're betting on yourself, but it helped me grow my business and count on myself to follow through. Now I focus on productivity and executive function skills, helping high-achieving business owners and self-employed professionals who are successful on the outside but somewhat scattered on the inside. As a mom of two young kids, managing their timelines, activities, and emotional needs has given me perspective on how to manage both a household and a business without getting burnt out.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

My first boss, Mark Adwar, taught me very early on when I was 19 that giving value is really what matters in terms of what you do with your life and how you could be in service to others by just doing your best. When you have that as the goal versus trying to attach your goals to revenue or other immaterial things, you're less motivated and more discouraged to keep going on the days that are hard. He showed me how to think for myself, how to lead, how to be mindful of the quality of the work that I present, and to be proud of the work that I do, not be dismissive of just clocking in and clocking out. Your work is part of who you are, so you should be proud of it. It's not just something that you do and life happens afterwards. What you do for a living is part of who you are, so you should do your best.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

One of the benefits of being a coach is realizing that all the challenges and struggles that I went through were not in vain. Every single obstacle in my way taught me something that not only helped me become a better version of me, but it helped me guide other people and help them get through those difficult things. So what I would say to a young woman is: Your life is an example to someone. Even when the challenges you're struggling through and the situations or circumstances seem as if they're just not what you expected, or you don't feel success in your own life, use what you've learned from your life to help somebody else. That is one of the best gifts I've ever received from this coaching, just realizing that what I've been through hasn't been in vain. The things that you go through are actually in service to the world. So use the lessons for yourself, but also share the lessons.
