Ten minutes with Elisha
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to not letting the world decide who I am and defining that for myself, making that definition unshakable. Also, moving in a way that is 1% better than yesterday, always striving to improve each day whether practicing a skill, making a new connection, or maintaining relationships, which are so important in the industry.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I received from my mentors was to leave everything that's a part of a previous chapter of my life and fully embrace the new chapter I'm in. It took a while to understand, but going into new areas of life with open arms means releasing things you might not realize you're carrying from a previous part of your life story.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell someone entering the industry to be a sponge, not rush the journey, but really become an expert and take your time. The journey is part of the story and there's something to love and appreciate about each phase you're in. Maybe being an A-lister isn't the end result; some prefer to be quiet in their roles like just writing, and that's beautiful - take ownership of the area you're called to be successful in.
