Her Story

About Eliza

Eliza Boggia is an accomplished attorney serving as Counsel for Verizon’s Consumer Group (VCG) Sales, Service & Experience division, where she provides strategic legal guidance on commercial operations, contracts, marketing campaigns, and customer experience initiatives. Since joining Verizon, she has progressed from supporting business and government technology products to advising the company’s consumer business units, including Fios and Mobile. Before transitioning to in-house counsel, Eliza spent approximately seven years practicing law at three prominent law firms, gaining extensive experience in appellate and commercial litigation, product liability, consumer protection, regulatory compliance, and contract negotiations. She earned her Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law in 2014 and her Bachelor of Arts in English from Fordham University, graduating magna cum laude.

Beyond her legal responsibilities, Eliza is deeply committed to community service, youth development, and professional mentorship. She serves as co-chair of the Educate, Empower, and Mentor Youth pillar of Verizon’s pro bono program, coordinating initiatives with NJ LEEP and the All Stars Project to support young people from underserved communities. Through these programs, she helps students build professional skills, strengthen resumes, prepare for interviews, and gain exposure to corporate environments. She also volunteers with Operation Smile, an organization she has supported since 2009, contributing to fundraising, student leadership development, and international outreach initiatives. Her dedication to fostering opportunity reflects her belief in the importance of mentorship, inclusion, and empowering the next generation.

Eliza’s professional philosophy is shaped by her upbringing in a single-parent household, where she witnessed her mother work multiple jobs while raising three children. Her mother’s resilience, determination, and strength remain a significant source of inspiration, influencing Eliza’s own approach to overcoming challenges and pursuing opportunities with confidence. She encourages young women, particularly those in the legal profession, to challenge imposter syndrome, recognize their capabilities, and pursue leadership opportunities without waiting until they meet every qualification. Outside of work, Eliza enjoys spending time with her family and two dogs, exploring the outdoors, and traveling with her daughter. Through her legal career, community involvement, and commitment to mentorship, she continues to champion authenticity, professional growth, and greater access to opportunity.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my mother, who raised my two older brothers and me as a single parent while working multiple jobs to provide us with a meaningful upbringing and a strong family foundation. Watching her strength, dedication, and perseverance inspired me to become the strong, determined woman I am today.
