About Elizabeth
Elizabeth Alper-Williams is the Founder and Executive Director of the Miami Beach Youth Sports Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to youth sports, promoting community wellness, and creating opportunities for children to play, grow, and thrive. Through strategic partnerships with local government, schools, nonprofits, professional sports organizations, and corporate partners, Elizabeth works to remove barriers to participation and develop programs that provide children with the confidence, skills, and lifelong benefits that come from athletic involvement. Her initiatives include girls’ sports programming, scholarship opportunities, positive coaching efforts, and large-scale community events that bring families together through sports and wellness.
In addition to leading the Foundation, Elizabeth serves on the City of Miami Beach Parks & Recreation Advisory Board, where she advocates for innovative recreation programs, equitable access to youth activities, and strong public-private partnerships. She launched a youth leadership council to help address evolving community needs and continues to champion opportunities for girls in sports, including basketball, soccer, lacrosse, flag football, and volleyball. Her work focuses on creating inclusive environments where young athletes can develop leadership skills, build confidence, and participate in programs that prioritize accessibility over financial barriers.
Before transitioning into nonprofit leadership, Elizabeth built a successful career in international business and commodities trading with roles at ED&F Man Commodities and Sucden Americas Corp. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and International Studies from the University of Miami and a Master of Business Administration from Northeastern State University. Driven by a commitment to service, mentorship, and community empowerment, Elizabeth uses her professional experience and personal journey as a parent to advocate for stronger youth opportunities and encourage others—especially young women—to recognize the value of their voices and leadership potential.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The biggest lesson that I've learned, and one of the obstacles I've had to overcome as a woman, is just sometimes thinking that they know more than I do, or that I don't have value to bring, and don't underestimate yourself. You have value to bring, and don't underestimate your voice. Use your voice. Don't be intimidated.
