What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the hard work and perseverance that have carried me throughout my career. When I started in the mortgage industry as a single mother, I earned $7.50 an hour. Through dedication, hard work, and commitment, I built a rewarding career in finance, now earning a six-figure salary. I absolutely love what I do, and with over 33 years of experience, I take pride in the expertise, relationships, and impact I have developed in this field. I also dedicate my success to my two beautiful children; they are the reason I got up every day, worked hard, and never gave up.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is that it’s never too late to pursue your education and achieve your goals. I went back to school years ago and completed my college degree in 2013 to show my children that you can have it all. With determination, hard work, and persistence, anything is possible in this lifetime.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is simple: you can, and you will. Set your goals, stay determined, and never give up, and you will achieve your lifelong dreams.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is managing time effectively there never seem to be enough hours in the day to be everywhere I need to be. At the same time, this challenge presents an opportunity to improve efficiency, delegate strategically, and leverage technology to maximize productivity and impact.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are balance, dedication, and service. I strive to maintain a strong work-life balance while staying actively engaged and helping wherever I can. Giving back is also central to my life, and I have been deeply involved with the Salvation Army Church since my days in Massachusetts, continuing my commitment to service now in Florida.
