Her Story

About Elizabeth

I am a seasoned banking professional with more than 45 years of experience in asset-based lending and collateral management. Since joining Firstrust Bank in 2011, she has served as both Collateral Analyst and Collateral Manager, overseeing the monitoring of collateral that secures commercial loans while helping safeguard the bank's financial interests. Throughout my career, which includes positions at several financial institutions,, I built a reputation for my expertise in accounts receivable analysis, fraud detection, and risk assessment. Although she did not pursue a college degree, she completed accounting coursework and financial statement analysis training through the American Institute of Banking, developing a strong foundation through continuous learning and hands-on experience. In her current role, Boyle analyzes collateral positions, prioritizes account reviews based on availability and risk, and mentors' analysts in identifying discrepancies that may signal fraud or financial instability. I am known for combining meticulous attention to detail with the intuition developed over decades in the industry. Inspired by mentors who encouraged her to treat every account as a "storybook" and to keep investigating until she could prove herself wrong, Boyle has become an advocate for thoughtful analysis over surface-level review. Her practical approach, including the use of trend reporting and concentration analysis, has helped strengthen lending decisions and protect both the bank and its customers. I attribute my long-standing success to integrity, persistence, and trusting my instincts. I believe in separating personal feelings from professional responsibilities, fostering honest relationships with clients while never losing sight of the bank's obligation to manage risk. Passionate about mentoring the next generation of banking professionals, she encourages young people entering the industry to stay curious, pay attention to the smallest details, and never stop asking questions. Outside of work, I treasure spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, valuing the same sense of commitment, care, and connection in her personal life that has defined her distinguished career.

Ten minutes with Elizabeth

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to years of experience, a commitment to thoroughly investigating issues, and a strong sense of intuition developed over time . I pay close attention to detail, stay persistent when solving problems, and have been fortunate to learn from knowledgeable mentors throughout my career.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

One of the most valuable pieces of advice I received came from Mr. Fry, who told me to "look at an agent as a storybook." He encouraged me to understand who they sell to, the terms they work under, and their payment patterns before making decisions. I also learned the importance of trusting my instincts and embrace the value of trend reporting through guidance from Peg Burns. I also learned from a credit Administrator that even though the company submitted invoices and Bills of Lading, it doesn't mean the sales submitted are correct. Knowing the company's history, you should be able to spot if the sales seem out of the norm for the customer. Those experiences have shaped my approach and helped me grow professionally.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would encourage them to pay close attention to the details and trust their instincts. It's important not to skim over information, but to take the time to fully understand each situation. Get to know your customers, stay curious, and don't hesitate to report discrepancies to lenders promptly. Consistency, diligence, and confidence in your judgment will serve you well. I also encourage them to own their mistakes, learn from them and move forward.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges is finding the right balance between automation and the value of manual review. While technology improves efficiency, human judgment remains essential in identifying fraud and recognizing risks that automated systems may overlook. We also face challenges related to market concentration, limited availability, and the impact of bank mergers and organizational changes. At the same time, these changes present opportunities to improve processes and strengthen risk management.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity is the foundation of everything I do. I believe in protecting both the bank's interests and those of its customers by making thoughtful, ethical decisions. I also value trust, diligence, accountability, and attention to detail. These principles guide my work every day and have earned the confidence of my colleagues and clients throughout my career.
