Her Interview
Ten minutes with Elizabeth
01What do you attribute your success to?
I really think that people around me have pushed me to be better. I am pretty self-motivated and driven. You should never be the smartest person in a room. I have worked to surround myself with people who want to make things better, whether it's my family or professional colleagues.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Fail forward; you cannot expect to be successful without exposure and experiences that will help you build the opportunities to grow.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I think you have to live before you know who you are and what you want to be when you grow up. Go and enjoy experiences, go travel, go make some mistakes, go fall on your face. Go try new things, don't be afraid to fail.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
There is so much information on the internet and it's hard for people to know what is relevant. I think there are also opportunities to improve access to care. It is a little bit of a barrier because I don't think that everyone gets the information about what physical therapy or even pelvic health can really offer them. There is more visibility and finding the right fit via a healthcare professional is the first step to really achieving your goals.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I would say integrity and honesty. I think we should know our own boundaries and barriers. It's a good way to learn more about how to help folks, or how to get better in a situation. I also think it's important to know when you need to ask questions or pull someone else in.
