About Elizabeth
Elizabeth Conde, LMSW-SIFI, AWA, is a bilingual school social worker, therapist, adjunct professor, author, and mentor with more than 28 years of experience in social work, mental health, and education. She currently serves as a School Social Worker with the New York City Department of Education, where she manages crisis intervention, mandated counseling, and comprehensive student support services. In addition to her clinical work, she provides therapy in private practice, specializing in domestic violence, immigration evaluations, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). She also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Stony Brook University, helping prepare the next generation of social work professionals.
Elizabeth earned her Master of Social Work from Adelphi University after completing her Bachelor of Science in Social Work at Rutgers University. Throughout her career, she has remained deeply committed to advancing mental health equity, supporting underserved communities, and expanding access to culturally responsive care. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she combines clinical expertise with compassion to empower individuals and families while mentoring aspiring social workers and advocating for professional excellence. In recognition of her dedication and impact, she was nominated as School Social Worker of the Year for the 2025–2026 school year.
Beyond her professional roles, Elizabeth is an active leader within the social work and nonprofit communities. She serves as Second Vice President of the National Association of Puerto Rican-Hispanic Social Workers and as Outreach and Strategic Alliance Chair for 100 Hispanic Women of New Jersey. She is also a board member of Siembra Today, where she promotes mental health awareness, leadership development, and educational opportunities for Latino communities. Guided by the principles of perseverance, mentorship, and paying it forward, Elizabeth continues to inspire others through her advocacy, teaching, volunteerism, and lifelong commitment to social justice and community empowerment.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to never giving up on myself and to having a mentor who believed in me. Being a single mother also motivated me to continue growing professionally so I could provide a better future for my daughter. Those experiences strengthened my resilience, determination, and commitment to serving others.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've received is to never burn bridges and always pay it forward. Building genuine relationships, treating people with respect, and helping others along the way have been essential to both my personal and professional growth.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value compassion, service, mentorship, and giving back to my community. I believe in supporting others, uplifting future generations, and creating opportunities through education and advocacy. Personally, I also enjoy traveling and reading, which help me continue learning, growing, and maintaining balance in my life.
