Her Interview

Ten minutes with Elizabeth

01What do you attribute your success to?

It's all God. There's nothing about me. If you would have asked me 10 years ago, honey, or you would have said this was going to be my life, I would have laughed at you, because 10 years ago, I did not know Jesus. And even five years ago, if you said you were not going to be in corporate, I would have laughed at you. Really, taking a step back and going into that unchartered territory, there's something new and exciting about it. At the end of the day, I know I did, and just because we don't see the fruit in the beginning doesn't mean that it's not right on the horizon. When God calls somebody, he can't give you everything all at once. He has to expand your mind to be able to steward what he's about to lay on your shoulders. He's really cultivating us, and He's teaching us to be able to steward and multiply for His glory. So I give Him all the glory, because nothing in my own strength, every creative business idea, it's all him.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say the first thing you do is ask God to align your heart's desires with His heart's desires. And in doing that, just to keep your heart created in a clean heart and renew your spirit. Because once that is aligned, everything moving forward is in His will. And when you're in His will, there is grace, and there's favor on your lives. Make sure that those desires are aligned so that you don't waste years chasing or circling things that weren't meant for you. Invite Him into every situation, invite Him into every single moment. And in doing so, there's a peace that comes about that is undeniable that it has to be supernatural.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I think the biggest challenge is helping women feel comfortable and accepted in a culture that raises the thought that no one can be trusted. Diffusing the cultural abnormalities that, as a society, we've normalized. First starting out, you have to gain your own credibility, you have to be consistent, and sometimes that consistency is hard when you're not seeing the fruit of that labor. But knowing that you're called for that, and knowing that your obedience, your yes is your obedience, and that consistency is going to produce fruit at a later date.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Chasing Jesus, every biblical value. There's people love Jesus, and then there's having a relationship with Him. Having a relationship where you choose daily to get in His Word. You choose daily to commune with Him and to pray. Things that I tolerated before, I don't want anything that I have to tolerate in my life. I want it to be full of fruit and seasoned with salt. Friend circles shrinking and alignments, I'm gonna be in rooms with people that are like-minded. In my personal life, if it doesn't bring me peace, I will pray for you but I won't subject myself to places that are gonna break that peace.
