Her Interview
Ten minutes with Elizabeth
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the breadth and depth of experience I have built over more than two decades in the technology field. I remain consistently curious and deeply committed to continuous learning, never allowing myself to grow complacent. I stay confident in my abilities, I am not afraid to speak my mind, and I make it a point to keep pace with the ever-evolving landscape of technology.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is to practice mindfulness. Learning to manage and control my emotions has allowed me to remain calm, clear-headed, and composed in any situation — no matter how high the pressure or how challenging the circumstances.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to lead with emotional intelligence — learn to manage your emotions so they do not hinder your progress or your presence in the room. Understand that if you feel you are working significantly harder than your peers and still seeing recognition or promotions lag behind, you are not alone. That experience is real, and it is shared by many women in this field. Do not let it discourage you. Keep going, stay persistent, and trust that your consistency and excellence will ultimately speak for themselves.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the most significant challenges I continue to navigate in this field is gender-based discrimination. Throughout my career, I have encountered both discrimination and sexual harassment, experiences that were particularly pronounced in my earlier years. There has long been an unspoken expectation for women in technology to work three times as hard and be three times as visible just to receive the same level of recognition as our male counterparts. While progress has been made, these challenges remain real and ongoing.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide both my professional and personal life are integrity, ambition, drive, trust, humility, and empathy. These are not just ideals I aspire to — they are the foundation of how I lead, how I engage with others, and how I measure my own growth and character.
