Elizabeth Goldsmith
Elizabeth Goldsmith is the Group Sales Manager for the Cleveland Monsters, a team within Rock Entertainment Group and the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliated with the Columbus Blue Jackets. In her role, she oversees all group sales, youth hockey sales, suite rentals, and events, while cultivating long-term client relationships. Drawing from her own experiences growing up in Cleveland and spending time in the arena where her brother played hockey, Elizabeth brings a deep passion for sports and community engagement to every aspect of her work, creating memorable, once-in-a-lifetime experiences for youth hockey players and families. Elizabeth’s career path to sports sales was unconventional but deeply rooted in her love for athletics and community service. A former Division I college soccer player at the University of South Alabama, she began her career coaching youth soccer and working with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, gaining valuable outreach and relationship-building experience. She then spent time as a technical recruiter in Charlotte, North Carolina, before returning to Cleveland to support Adaptive Sports Ohio, providing athletic opportunities for individuals with physical disabilities. These experiences honed her skills in communication, leadership, and client engagement, ultimately leading her to the Cleveland Monsters, where she quickly set revenue records and advanced from Youth Hockey and Group Event Specialist to Group Sales Manager. Beyond her professional work, Elizabeth is committed to giving back to her community. She volunteers with organizations such as the Children’s Hunger Alliance and finds fulfillment in helping others enjoy the same opportunities she experienced as a young athlete. Passionate about family and sports, she enjoys spending time with her dog, Coco, and supporting teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers and the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team. Elizabeth’s dedication, energy, and commitment to fostering meaningful connections make her a standout leader in sports sales and community engagement.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my parents, without a doubt. Seeing their careers, what they've done, where they've gotten, especially my mom. There was this place called the Union Club in downtown Cleveland that at the time was men only, and she was one of the first woman that was allowed there for lunch once women were allowed. My parents and their support have been everything, because they always knew that I had it in me when I didn't. The support that they had through the really low times and then the highest of the high times has been incredible. I know everyone says it, but I'm very lucky and would not be where I am if it wasn't for her, and my dad, but obviously my mom specifically.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Just don't give up on yourself. Know what you're destined to be, and if it doesn't happen right away, that doesn't mean it's not going to. I think if I didn't have the path that I had, I wouldn't be here if I also didn't know I was wanting more. I was great at what I was doing, but it just wasn't enough. It wasn't what I knew I could do and what I wanted.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges I face in my field is breaking into the sports industry without following the traditional ticket-sales path, while also managing the demands of long, season-driven hours. At the same time, I see a tremendous opportunity in leveraging community relationships and creating memorable experiences that foster long-term engagement and loyalty.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me, both professionally and personally, are community, perseverance, and family support. I am also deeply committed to creating meaningful experiences for others that leave a lasting impact.
