Her Story

About Elizabeth

Elizabeth A. Jones serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of A3 Allegiance, a woman-owned and women-led Inventory SaaS company based in Moline, Illinois. Her professional journey is a powerful example of resilience, adaptability, and the belief that success does not follow a single path. Since joining A3 Allegiance in January, Elizabeth has played an important role in supporting the company’s growth from a startup with a small team into a growing mid-sized organization. She brings a unique perspective shaped by both her professional background and personal experiences, applying skills in leadership, organization, budgeting, and problem-solving to help drive business success. Elizabeth earned an associate degree in Business Management and Marketing and spent nearly two decades working as a preschool teacher and nanny, where she developed strong communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills while supporting children and families.

After stepping away from the traditional workforce for nine years to focus on raising her family, Elizabeth returned with renewed purpose and confidence, recognizing that the skills gained through managing a household and family responsibilities were valuable assets in the professional world. She believes that experiences such as budgeting, scheduling, negotiation, adaptability, and problem-solving translate directly into effective leadership. Today, she balances her responsibilities as a CFO, graduate student pursuing an online Master of Business Administration, and mother, demonstrating discipline, perseverance, and a commitment to lifelong learning. In her role at A3 Allegiance, Elizabeth enjoys contributing to an innovative technology environment where creative thinking, collaboration, and continuous improvement are essential to solving complex inventory management challenges.

Elizabeth is passionate about building workplaces centered on integrity, honesty, and inclusion. She is especially proud to be part of a woman-owned technology company that challenges traditional expectations in the tech industry and prioritizes opportunities for women and individuals from diverse backgrounds. She believes that different perspectives and experiences strengthen organizations and that everyone should be valued for the unique contributions they bring. Elizabeth encourages women to recognize that they do not have to choose between career and family, emphasizing that every life experience develops skills that can lead to future opportunities. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, baking, solving puzzles, and reading, while continuing to prioritize family connection and personal growth. Through her leadership and journey, Elizabeth inspires others to embrace change, trust their abilities, and pursue success with authenticity and purpose.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is to change my perspective. While I may not always be able to change a situation, I can always choose how I view it and how I respond. This mindset has been especially important as I navigate the transition from being a full-time mom to balancing the responsibilities of motherhood, being a full-time student, and serving as a full-time CFO. There are moments when work demands, family needs, and academic commitments all compete for my attention, and it can feel overwhelming. However, I have learned that focusing on frustration does not create solutions; instead, I look inward, take accountability, and identify ways to adapt, prioritize, and move forward productively. Changing my perspective allows me to approach challenges with resilience, find balance, and continue growing both personally and professionally.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering my industry is to never feel like you have to choose between building a successful career and having a fulfilling personal life. I was fortunate to have parents who valued family and shared a job while raising my sister and me, which shaped my belief that being present for my children was something to embrace, not a sacrifice. Returning to the workforce after time away has been both challenging and rewarding, but I have learned that the skills developed through life experiences are just as valuable as those gained through traditional career paths. Managing a household, balancing responsibilities, budgeting, organizing schedules, problem-solving, and negotiating are all skills that translate directly into leadership and business. I encourage women to recognize the value of everything they bring to the table and to have confidence that they do not have to choose between career and family. With determination and the right perspective, it is possible to achieve success in both.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge and opportunity in my field are truly one and the same: creating something entirely new. While there are many inventory systems available, few are designed to do what we do. Many existing solutions are focused on point-of-sale operations or monitoring people, whereas our approach is centered on providing a different kind of inventory management solution. This creates tremendous potential in the market, but it also means we are building a path that has not been established before. It requires persistence, innovation, and a willingness to learn through trial and error. We are constantly evaluating what works, adapting our approach, and finding creative solutions to challenges as they arise. As we continue to grow from a startup into a mid-sized company, one of our greatest opportunities is bringing our team together, staying aligned on our vision, and continuing to develop technology that meets an important need in the industry.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are integrity, honesty, and inclusion. I believe in doing the right thing, being transparent, and creating an environment where people feel valued and respected. One of the things I appreciate most about A3 Allegiance is that it is a woman-owned and woman-led technology company, which challenges the traditional perception of what leadership in the tech industry looks like. We are committed to creating opportunities for women and individuals from diverse backgrounds at every level of the organization. I believe that a company is stronger when people with different experiences, perspectives, and ideas have a seat at the table. Everyone should have the opportunity to contribute, grow, and be recognized for the unique value they bring, regardless of how they look or where they come from.
