About Elizabeth
She is a product development technologist, chemist, researcher, and science communicator with experience in product development, synthetic chemistry, organometallic chemistry, laboratory research, testing, characterization, literature review, and scientific writing. She currently works as a Product Development Technologist at Devro. Her background includes doctoral research at Texas A&M University, research internships and undergraduate research experience in Singapore, and writing/editing work with Chembites. She holds a PhD in Chemistry from Texas A&M University and a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Biological Chemistry from Nanyang Technological University.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I like to learn new things, and whatever I do, I kind of just want to do the best that I can at whatever it is I'm doing. Constant learning has really helped me to grow in this field.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Not take my work too seriously or personally. Take constructive feedback instead of feeling defensive.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
If you know what you want, just apply for it, even if you think maybe you may not have all the qualifications, you really never know. They might take a chance on you, so just go for it.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Navigating the different needs of everybody and coordinating between departments like quality, sales, and manufacturing while moving everything forward without neglecting anyone's needs.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is most important, being someone people can trust. Also being open to learning new things to constantly grow.
