Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute much of my success to adaptability and the ability to stay effective under pressure. I take pride in thinking on my feet and navigating challenging situations with calm, clarity, and efficiency. My background in leadership and management has shaped a people-centered approach focused on trust, communication, and empathy — the foundations of any strong team. In a fast-paced, 24/7 industry, the capacity to adapt quickly and lead with composure has become one of my greatest professional strengths and accomplishments.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The most meaningful career advice in my life came from two people who shaped not just my path, but my character. My father, Bernie Krauss — a 24+ year Army veteran and later a government contracting company Chief Cybersecurity Engineer — showed me that discipline and hard work mean nothing if you lose sight of your values and your family. My first boss taught me another powerful lesson: resilience. As an immigrant rebuilding after 9/11, his determination and integrity were unmatched. From both of them, I learned that true leadership is built on perseverance, authenticity, and honoring what matters most.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Technology that protects people and powers operations can feel intimidating from the outside, but once you’re in, you realize success comes from problem-solving, teamwork, and the willingness to adapt. Don’t let anyone make you doubt your place here. Stay teachable, stand firm when needed, and remember: your professionalism, integrity, and work ethic will speak louder than stereotypes ever could.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The landscape is evolving fast. Systems that used to operate independently — CCTV, access control, fire alarms, networks — now integrate into unified platforms. The challenge is staying ahead of rapidly changing technology, but the opportunity is transformational: we’re building safer, smarter environments with more efficient and proactive life-safety solutions than ever before.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide me — both professionally and personally — center on connection, care, and balance. I cherish the time I spend with my four children and enjoy giving back to my community through volunteer soccer coaching. I also foster pets and capture the beauty of nature through photography, passions that ground me and bring perspective. These experiences continually remind me of the importance of empathy, patience, and mindfulness — qualities I strive to embody in my relationships, my leadership, and my work.
