IP Litigation Attorney
Proskauer Rose LLP
Washington, DC 20005

Elizabeth “Beth” Shrieves is a distinguished Intellectual Property Litigation Attorney whose career embodies a rare combination of perseverance, intellectual rigor, and purpose-driven impact. Since entering patent litigation in 2018, she has developed a reputation for excellence across a wide array of industries, including software, medical devices, telecommunications, semiconductors, and mobile applications. At Proskauer Rose LLP, Beth continues to represent clients in complex, high-stakes patent disputes, leveraging her deep expertise to deliver strategic, results-oriented solutions while navigating the evolving landscape of intellectual property law.

Beth’s journey to the legal profession was both deliberate and transformative. After earning her B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Philosophy from Wake Forest University, she began her career as a general litigation paralegal, a role she held for six years. This experience provided her with an intimate understanding of case preparation, legal strategy, and courtroom advocacy, laying the foundation for her later work as a patent litigator. While briefly exploring a parallel career in technology-focused project management, Beth recognized that her true passion was the law itself—both in the courtroom and in drafting precise, persuasive legal arguments. She pursued her J.D. through George Mason University’s night program while maintaining full-time professional responsibilities, ultimately passing the bar and entering Big Law, where she has excelled as a formidable advocate in patent litigation.

Beyond her professional achievements, Beth is deeply committed to service and making a meaningful difference in her community. She played a pivotal role in a pro bono case with the Innocence Project, securing the release of a man wrongfully imprisoned for 45 years, incarcerated at the age of 16. She remains actively involved with the American Bar Association and the Northern Virginia Bar Association and supports the Impact Global Health Alliance, a nonprofit providing critical healthcare to pregnant mothers and newborns in developing countries. Through pro bono advocacy, mentorship, and leadership in both legal and philanthropic initiatives, Beth exemplifies a professional who combines exceptional legal acumen with integrity, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to creating tangible, positive impact in the lives of others.
