Her Interview

Ten minutes with Elizabeth

01What do you attribute your success to?

I've been really fortunate to have incredible mentors throughout my years, especially women in leadership, who have supported and guided me through any important decision and any challenge I faced. Their influence has really been invaluable. Anna Forsberg is one mentor I would definitely highlight - she was really special at the time. And then again, my daughter is a huge source of motivation for me, keeping me grounded in my decision-making. Honestly, as a single parent, there's a lot of inspiration that I pull from my daughter when it comes to my drive and my determination and the life that I wanted to create for us.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

It's key to build and nurture a strong support system, both within your place of employment and outside of the workplace. Having people that you can trust and rely on makes such a meaningful difference in both personal and professional growth. One thing you learn very early on is to really embrace change. So, rather than resisting transition or challenges, I think leaning into them and staying adaptable can only equate to growth.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I think, if you can, be intentional about the work environments that you choose, and prioritizing organizations with strong, supportive cultures. I think it's really important to know your worth and the value that you bring, and that you're empowered to think creatively and to make an impact, no matter what your role or level. Often the smallest changes can lead to the biggest outcomes.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

In fintech, it's such a rapidly evolving industry, so it brings a lot of challenges and exciting opportunities. I think it's important to lean into that. Currently, key areas of growth would include AI integration, fraud prevention is always key, and just navigating increasingly complex compliance requirements. Really, success in this space requires the ability to adapt and continue to reassess how all these moving pieces fit together.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I would say authenticity and integrity are really foundational. When you lead by doing the right thing, everything just really falls into place. I'm also really passionate about fostering a strong organizational culture and creating a sense of belonging in the workplace. When you work for a large organization, it's so important that you still feel valued and heard. So I feel really fortunate that with PayPal, I'm supported in pursuing that passion project of mine, and I create initiatives that focus on work-life balance and prioritizing self-care.
