Her Story
About Elizabeth
My journey into Human Resources began in 2004 when I was given the opportunity to move from the manufacturing floor into the office at a manufacturing company. What started as a new opportunity quickly became a career I truly fell in love with.
Over the years, I took on a variety of responsibilities, including managing the office, recruiting and hiring employees, onboarding, training, and coordinating FDA inspections. I discovered that my greatest passion was working with people—helping them succeed, creating efficient processes, and building a positive workplace culture.
For the past year, I have served as an HR Recruiter at Cooper Heating & Cooling, where I've had the opportunity to build recruiting strategies, develop the company's orientation program, establish partnerships with trade schools, and create initiatives that strengthen the employee experience.
What motivates me most is making sure every employee feels seen, appreciated, and truly part of the team. I believe that when people feel valued and supported, they do their best work. More than 20 years after beginning my HR career, I still love what I do and remain passionate about helping people grow, strengthening organizations, and making a positive impact every day.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I believe that people are the heart of every successful organization. Throughout my career, I've found the greatest fulfillment in helping others grow, creating positive experiences, and building processes that make a lasting impact.
As an HR Recruiter, I'm passionate about connecting great people with meaningful careers and creating an environment where employees feel welcomed, supported, and valued from day one. Whether I'm recruiting top talent, developing onboarding programs, or creating opportunities for employee recognition and growth, I enjoy finding ways to improve both the employee and candidate experience.
I'm naturally detail-oriented, organized, and always looking for ways to make processes more efficient. I enjoy taking ideas and turning them into structured, scalable programs that help both employees and the business succeed.
While I don't seek the spotlight, I believe meaningful leadership often happens behind the scenes. My goal is to make a positive impact through service, collaboration, and continuous improvement—helping people reach their potential while contributing to a workplace culture built on trust, respect, and opportunity.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is, "Always leave things better than you found them."
That mindset has shaped the way I approach every role I've had. Whether it's improving a process, helping a new employee feel welcome, supporting a teammate, or solving a problem, I strive to make a positive impact. Success isn't just about accomplishing your own goals—it's about making the people and the organization around you stronger because you were part of it. I've also learned that relationships matter just as much as results. Treating people with respect, listening, and leading with integrity creates trust, and trust is the foundation of every successful team.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't underestimate the value of your voice or your perspective. The skilled trades and home service industry have traditionally been male-dominated, but that is changing because talented women continue to step forward and make an impact. Be curious, ask questions, and never stop learning. You don't have to know everything on day one—what matters is your willingness to grow, adapt, and put in the work. Build strong relationships, seek out mentors, and don't be afraid to take on challenges that push you outside your comfort zone. Most importantly, be authentic. You don't have to change who you are to earn respect. Your professionalism, work ethic, integrity, and the way you treat people will speak louder than anything else. There is absolutely a place for women in this industry, and the opportunities are endless for those who are willing to learn, lead, and make a difference.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in the skilled trades and home services industry is attracting and developing the next generation of talent. As experienced professionals retire, there is a growing need to recruit, train, and retain skilled individuals who are eager to build long-term careers in the trades.
At the same time, I believe this challenge presents one of our greatest opportunities. Companies that invest in people—through structured onboarding, clear career paths, ongoing training, and a strong workplace culture—will be the ones that thrive. Employees today are looking for more than just a job; they want purpose, growth, and to feel valued.
I'm especially passionate about creating those opportunities by building recruiting partnerships, improving the onboarding experience, and developing career progression programs that help employees see a future within the organization. When we invest in people, we don't just strengthen our workforce—we strengthen the entire industry.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Family is the foundation of everything I do. It reminds me to lead with compassion, show up for others, and keep perspective on what truly matters. That value naturally extends into my work, where I believe in treating people with respect, building meaningful relationships, and creating an environment where everyone feels supported and valued.
Integrity, service, and continuous growth are also values that guide me every day. I believe in doing the right thing, even when no one is watching, and in leaving people and processes better than I found them. Whether at work or in my personal life, I strive to make a positive impact by helping others succeed and building connections based on trust and authenticity.
