Her Story

About Elke

At the intersection of technology, law, and human capital stands Elke Suber, a distinguished executive whose career spans over two and a half decades of transformative leadership. As the Chief Legal & People Officer at Community.com, a pioneering SMS customer engagement platform leveraging generative AI, Elke brings an extraordinary depth of experience to the forefront of digital innovation.

Her remarkable journey through the tech industry reads like a masterclass in professional evolution. From her early days practicing law at the prestigious AmLaw 50 multinational firm Akin, Elke's career trajectory has taken her through the corridors of power at some of technology's most influential companies. She spent an impressive 16 years at Microsoft, where she steadily climbed the ranks to lead legal operations across crucial divisions including Global Partner Solutions, Consumer and Devices, and the Microsoft Store. Her expertise then led her to Meta, where she helmed the legal oversight of multi-billion dollar operations in the Monetization and Meta Business Groups, managing everything from advertising and business messaging to commerce initiatives.

Since 2023, Elke has been orchestrating both the legal and people strategies at Community.com, bringing her unique blend of technical acumen and human-centered leadership to the forefront of customer engagement innovation. Her thought leadership extends beyond the boardroom, as she frequently takes the stage as a keynote speaker and panelist, sharing her insights on pressing issues in technology, cloud computing, AI, advertising, and diversity.

Her excellence hasn't gone unnoticed. In 2018, Savoy Magazine recognized her as one of the Most Influential Black Lawyers in Corporate America, and she was chosen to deliver the commencement address at her alma mater, the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Her influence and expertise have been chronicled in numerous publications, including the Huffington Post, MCCA's Diversity and the Law Magazine, and The Root.com, and she was prominently featured in Eve Wright's book "Life at the Speed of Passion."

Beyond her corporate achievements, Elke's commitment to community service shines through her extensive board involvement. She currently serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors for Girl Scouts of Western Washington, while also contributing her expertise to the University of Pittsburgh School of Law's Board of Visitors and O'Dea High School's Board. Her leadership legacy includes past roles as Board Chair of EastHub and the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association, demonstrating her dedication to creating lasting impact across both professional and civic spheres.
